SME Strategies is delighted to be sponsoring Joshua Crossley who is running the London Marathon next weekend in aid of Worldwide Cancer Research. Josh is one of my terrific godsons and he tragically lost his wonderful mother, Stephanie aged just 46, to cancer following her second courageous battle against it when he was a teenager.
If any of our clients or contacts would like to sponsor Josh, please do so and SME Strategies will match fund donations up to £1,000 in total.
Why Worldwide Cancer Research (WCR)?
WCR funds research into any type of cancer anywhere in the world and in the world’s best research institutions. They fund world-renowned specialists and up and coming talent. They do so for one very good reason – to gain a global perspective. Because research doesn’t happen in isolation. The answers will not come from one scientist, in one lab, in one country.
Scientists across the world are linked by an unflinching commitment to better understand cancer and how we can live with it. For this reason they share their discoveries. And they need to because cancer is not one disease – it’s more than 200.
To realise the vision of no life cut short by cancer the research can never stop.
UPDATE – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Congratulations to Joshua Crossley, my godson, for successfully completing the London Marathon despite it being the hottest London Marathon ever! Josh achieved more than his target for Worldwide Cancer Research. He ran in memory of his wonderful mum.
Josh said to his supporters afterwards “The most incredible and horrendous 4 hours and 19 minutes of my life. Your support has been beyond belief, not least your unbelievable donations which mean that over £5,000 is going to help the fight against cancer. Thank you!”
Josh wrote to us: “I am so grateful to David and SME Strategies for donating so generously to Worldwide Cancer Research, and for the support he has offered through the SME network to help my fundraising in general. The links between enterprise and charity should always be strong; donations such as this can only enhance those links and make a huge difference.”
SME Strategies is delighted to have contributed £1,000 in sponsorship towards his goal.
